What is the Snohomish County Partnership for Secure Medicine Disposal Program?

In order to protect and preserve our community and citizens, Snohomish County Law Enforcement has partnered with other agencies to provide its citizens this convenient and free medicine disposal program.

Keeping unused, unwanted and expired prescription drugs in your home poses a risk to you, your family and your community.  Improper disposal may lead to illegal use and may also contaminate our waters.  This program will provide you with an easy, secure and responsible way to properly dispose of these drugs.

This free program began Dec 1, 2009 and is now offered at law enforcement offices throughout Snohomish County

Simply gather your unwanted medicines, check the list below to ensure they will be accepted and bring them to any law enforcement office in Snohomish County (contact each location for specific hours).  There, staff will direct you to the disposal container.

For safety reasons, certain items cannot be accepted.

For more information and hours, call 425-388-3199

Looking ahead...

We need a sustainable source of funding to ensure that everyone in our community and state has access to a secure and effective disposal program.  Voluntary programs exist, but long-term funding is needed.  Contact your state legistlator or visit
